ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the current situation of clinical nurses' disaster nursing ability and its influencing factors, and to provide basis for carrying out clinical nurses' disaster nursing education and training. Methods:By convenient sampling method, 322 clinical nurses from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital in September 2020 were selected. The disaster nursing ability assessment tool and general information questionnaire were used to conduct a questionnaire survey to analyze the current situation of clinical nurses' disaster nursing ability and its main influencing factors. Results:The total score of disaster nursing ability of clinical nurses was (199.07±34.31) points, which was at the middle and lower level; the scores of each dimension from high to low were as follows: disaster preparedness score was (72.94±12.89) points, coping ability score was (80.00±13.82) points, disaster reduction/prevention capability score was (28.19±6.09) points, recovery/reconstruction ability score was (17.94±3.27) points. Regression analysis showed that the highest degree, clinical department, whether they have autonomously studied disaster nursing related courses after work, and whether they have participated in disaster rescue after work were the main influencing factors of clinical nurses' disaster nursing ability ( t values were -4.715-5.508, P<0.05). Conclusions:The overall level of disaster nursing ability of clinical nurses is at the middle and lower level. It should be combined with clinical nurses' work department, whether clinical nurses have disaster rescue experience and whether they have independently studied disaster nursing related courses, and targeted disaster nursing related training should be carried out to improve their disaster nursing knowledge and skill.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the mastery of disaster nursing knowledge of clinical nurses in tertiary general hospitals, so as to provide reference basis for formulating disaster nursing training program. Methods:A total of 374 clinical nurses in tertiary general hospitals in Xi ′an, Shaanxi Province from September to October 2020 were investigated by Nursers Disaster Nursing Emergency Knowledge Scale. Results:The score of the included 374 clinical nurses on disaster nursing emergency knowledge was 2.74±0.98 points. The "accident command system" score was 2.55±1.04 points and the "special care and isolation decontamination" score was 2.93±1.00 points which was the lowest and highest respectively. The followings were important factors which influence the score of emergency knowledge: age, education background, working years, professional title, department, post, hearing of disaster nursing or not, participating in disaster rescue training or not, and participating in disaster rescue or not ( F values were 22.093-2 103.285, P<0.001). Conclusions:The disaster nursing knowledge of clinical nurses in tertiary general hospitals is at a relatively low level. It is necessary to strengthen the training of junior nurses and encourage clinical nurses to actively participate in disaster nursing relevant work to enhance disaster nursing capabilities.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effect and persistence of disaster nurse training in emergency nurses and to provide reference for further disaster nurse training. Methods Sixty-four emergency nurses in the emergency department of Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital were selected as the research objects. Four emergency nursing specialists conducted training to investigate the core competence of disaster nursing six months after the training and after the end of the training. Results Before training and after the end of training. The core ability of disaster nursing training 6 months after the emergency nurses'scores were 133.33±8.95, 145.80 ±2.98, 136.33±10.90, the difference was statistically significant (F=9.076, P<0.05); disaster nursing core ability score, dimension disaster basic knowledge, nursing care, nursing care of vulnerable groups of disaster management and disaster nursing professional development in the 3 periods of the scores were statistically significant (F=3.579-12.421, P<0.05 or 0.01); gender, whether the emergency specialist nurses in the training before and afterthe end of the training, six months after training the three periods of the score was statistically significant (t=4.488-15.640, P<0.05 or 0.01). The scores of nurses with different working years before training and 6 months after training were statistically significant (F=7.565, 4.278, P<0.01 or 0.05). Conclusions Disaster-related knowledge and skills training can increase the emergency care nurse's disaster management core competencies, but require long-term repetitions to ensure the effectiveness of training.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the application effect of interdisciplinary collaborative transformational learning mode in undergraduate nursing students′ disaster nursing teaching. Methods A total of 115 undergraduate nursing students in 2014 and 2015 were enrolled in this study. The subjects were divided into two groups: the control group (62 cases) and the experimental group (53 cases). The control group adopted the case teaching mode of full-time teachers, and the experimental group adopted the interdisciplinary collaborative transformation learning mode. The theoretical knowledge, skills, practical skills, critical thinking, humanistic accomplishment and nurse-patient communication skills of two groups of nursing students before and after intervention were compared. Results The scores of theoretical knowledge, operational skills, practical ability, critical thinking, humanistic accomplishment and nurse-patient communication before the intervention were (42.72±10.18), (35.72±7.11), (41.19±5.32), (298.09±3.98), (298.38±6.03), (52.87±6.02) points, (87.21±5.05), (87.02±4.81), (86.13±4.48), (378.47± 9.16), (327.15 ± 12.01) and (69.11 ± 3.38) points after intervention respectively. There was significant difference before and after intervention t=- 57.687-- 14.328, P<0.01). The scores of theoretical knowledge, operational skills, practical ability, critical thinking, humanistic accomplishment and nurse-patient communication before the intervention were (43.90±9.56), (38.21±8.87), (41.39±6.77), (296.76± 10.02), (296.89±6.37), (52.37±5.45) points, (82.27±6.46), (84.06±5.63), (78.21±6.99), (344.18±10.88), (315.16±12.82) and (64.45±3.37) points after intervention, respectively. There was significant difference before and after intervention (t=-38.221--9.823, P<0.01). There was no significant difference between the two groups before the intervention (P>0.05), and the score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group after intervention (t=- 18.107-- 2.997, P<0.01). Conclusions Introducing interdisciplinary cooperative transformation learning in disaster nursing teaching can promote the enhancement of nursing students'knowledge of disaster succeeding.

ABSTRACT

Some fifty survivors participated in the narrative therapy sessions from March 2003 to December 2004, and thirty cases were analyzed using the transcripts. Each participant's surviving story was summarized, and then interpreted and reinterpreted by the survivors themselves in collaboration with the researcher. Thetwo main principles in narrative analysis were hermeneutical distanciation and hermeneutical circulation. RESULT AND CONCLUSION: First, nursing involvement should play active roles from the early stages of disaster incidents. Specifically, emergency nursing and flexible coping plans are to be available according to the specific properties of each case. Secondly, it is necessary to try to understand the extreme emotional experiences of disaster survival. The horror and pain people feel at an incident cannot simply be generalized, and it requires that each case be approached individually to help stop social alienation. Thirdly, more constant and long-term studies are required to set up nursing strategies for disaster survivors. Forming a trustingrelationship with survivors is basic, and formally registering as participants is necessary for continuous interventions. Fourthly, we should deeply appreciate the danger and complexity of modern society and understand the complex nature of disaster. Fifthly, interdisciplinary activities and studies are necessary in combination with various other fields to establish a framework of total nursing care for disaster incidents. Lastly, it is urgently necessary to educate families and friends of the survivors and the society as a whole about life after a disaster.
